As you might have already noticed, since my digital camera got stolen, I've been experimenting with my father's Canon AV-1, an old analogical SLR camera.

This photo was taken at midday of Friday the 5th of January 2007 on the Greina, which is an hour and a half of walk (with snowshoes) from where I've spent a week in complete isolation from the civilization. After the first 2 days of sun, we had a snowy first day of the year, then it blizzarded for 3 days, then eventually the sun came out again just one day before we had to leave, so we took a walk to the Greina Pass. Mind you, "sun" doesn't mean "warm". We were at above 2'200 meters, and the wind was still blowing, though not as strongly as on the days before. On our way back from over there, the wind became stronger and the sky became cloudy. Funny fact, on our way up, the mechanism of the camera stopped working, it was probably frozen by the wind... Oh, and this is the little winter hut where we actually spent our holiday, and here’s a detail of the inside

The lens I used for this shot is a Canon lens FD 50mm 1:1.8.
Again, I don't remember the exact aperture and exposure settings. Given an aperture, the camera sets the exposure by itself (that's the only way this camera works).
This time I tried a Fujifilm film, 100 ASA.
The photo-lab scanned directly the negative into a TIFF file. What I did with Photoshop was to: resize it, add a frame and then convert it to JPG.

La Greina... È un posto magico... Splendida in qualsiasi giorno dell'anno...
