Last summer the director of the magazine "Vivere la montagna" gave me and my fellow trekker a list of mountain huts he'd like us to visit and take pictures of, so that he could use them for an article about it.

We chose the Buffalora hut (websites: [link] [link] ). Some 1200m ascent, exhausting really (especially when you carry your tent, sleeping bag and food for three days on your back), but there's such a beautiful and varied landscape all the way long... The hut is really nice and cosy, with a small lake with lots of dragonflies not far from there (which is where we pitched our tent for the night).
On the second day we went to the most beautiful heart-shaped lake I've ever seen, called the Calvaresc lake. Another night was spent there, to take pictures of that beauty in the morning after, then we went back home with lots of pictures and good memories. I've just realized I've never put any picture of that trek over here, I really should (one day or another...).

Well, all this story to tell you that eventually, last week, the magazine with the article with our pictures was issued and I must confess that seeing my name and my pictures over there made me feel so good! Think about it,over 3'000 subscribers which leads to about 10'000 readers! Even my doctor keeps some copies in the waiting room, as well as the bar under my office!

That's all, just sharing some joy. ;)

I've just come across the latest article on Beppe Grillo's Blog.

Beppe Grillo is an Italian comedian and actor, born in 1948. He currently performs in theatres in Italy and abroad, with outstanding success. Grillo's themes include energy usage, political and corporate corruption, finance, freedom of speech, child exploitation, globalization, and technology.

In that post he wrote about how the Dalai Lama gave him the honour of a private visit, while at the same time the Pope, the State President and Prodi refused to meet with him.

I have no words to express how this disgusts me: the authorities refusing to meet the spiritual leader of all of the world’s Buddhists, a leading earthly figure in Tibet, who has also been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

Grillo has written "In the days when China was simply communist, the Dalai Lama was welcome everywhere, while now that China has become hyper-capitalist, suddenly the Dalai Lama is being overlooked. The God of Money is by far the most powerful of the Italian divinities.

He's talking about his country, but I'm afraid this is true in so many places all over the world...
